About Janet L. Doane
Janet was born in Seattle, Washington, and currently lives with her husband, Rex, on an island in the Pacific Northwest. They have both been enthusiatic vegetarian/vegans since 1969, and during the last four years have changed their dietary preferences to raw foods, eating an abundance of “living food”—food that hasn’t been cooked or heated and therefore retains all of its enzymes. Almond Essence is a “transitional” book with both raw and some cooked food recipes to satisfy the needs of most people.
Janet is a writer, poet, and artist, with themes centering on holistic living, nature, spirituality, and family. She recieved her art training at The Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut where she studied for four years.
